Global Petroleum Show (GPS) 2010 ended June 10th after three days of world-class exhibitions and events. This year’s show ends on a high note, having attracted thousands of attendees and exhibitors and featured significant international delegations. Billed as the world’s premier oil and gas show, GPS 2010 welcomed visitors to Calgary from over 100 countries who converged at the event to share ideas and innovations and to participate in educational sessions and conference events.

Show Highlights
- The Global Petroleum Conference – Entitled, “Uncovering the Game Changers”, the three-day conference focused on the “energy game changers” in the hydrocarbon energy industry, featured more than 100 guest speakers and focused on topics such as economic and environmental sustainability and regulatory issues.
- The International Ministers Forum – International energy leaders from Qatar, Peru, Yemen, and India came together to share their visions on the current and future state of the global energy industry. Issues discussed included global supply and demand and environmental protection.
- Mayor Dave Bronconnier “White Hat” Ceremony and GPS Tour – Mayor Dave Bronconnier visited GPS 2010 on Tuesday to present Mark Carr, President of dmg :: events, producers of GPS, with the prestigious “White Hat.” Mayor Bronconnier also toured key booths at the show’s exhibit, including Alberta International House, USA Pavilion and the United Kingdom Pavilion.
- Alberta International House (AIH) – The AIH played host to industry experts from major oil and gas producing regions who shared exciting business opportunities in their individual markets.
- Freestyle Motocross – One of the most riveting extreme sports, spectators were awed by daredevil motocross riders performing death defying stunts including back-flips, fender grabs, suicide cans and the ultimate “kiss of death”.
- GPS Rodeo – Hosted by World Bull Riding Champion Cody Snyder, attendees were invited to see live bareback riding, mutton-busting, wild ponies, saddle-bronc riding and bull riding at various times over the course of the Show.
