International Delegates and Exhibitors Share Ideas and Innovations at World’s Premier Oil and Gas Show
Calgary, Alberta (June 10th, 2010) – Global Petroleum Show (GPS) 2010 ended today after three days of world-class exhibitions and events. This year’s show ends on a high note, having attracted significant international delegates and exhibitors. Billed as the world’s premier oil and gas show, GPS 2010 welcomed visitors to Calgary from over 100 countries who converged at the event to share ideas and innovations and to participate in educational sessions and conference events.
“We are thrilled about the success of this year’s Global Petroleum Show and we are particularly excited about the number of international delegates and exhibitors that attended,” said Wes Scott, Event Director, Global Petroleum Show 2010. “The international focus of this year’s show speaks to how global the energy industry has become. We felt it was important for this year’s Show to speak to this trend with features such as the International Energy Ministers Forum, Alberta International House and the International Delegate Open House. These features and the overall Show well exceeded our expectations in both international attendance and industry innovation.”
Starting June 8th, industry experts and delegates visited various oil and gas booths and events in order to share insights on the current and future state of the energy industry. Key highlights for this year’s Show included:
- The Global Petroleum Conference – Entitled, “Uncovering the Game Changers”, the three-day conference focused on the “energy game changers” in the hydrocarbon energy industry, featured more than 100 guest speakers and focused on topics such as economic and environmental sustainability and regulatory issues.
- The International Ministers Forum – International energy leaders from Qatar, Peru, Yemen, and India came together to share their visions on the current and future state of the global energy industry. Issues discussed included global supply and demand and environmental protection.
- Mayor Dave Bronconnier “White Hat” Ceremony and GPS Tour – Mayor Dave Bronconnier visited GPS 2010 on Tuesday to present Mark Carr, President of dmg :: events, producers of GPS, with the prestigious “White Hat”. Mayor Bronconnier also toured key booths at the show’s exhibit, including the USA Pavilion and the United Kingdom Pavilion.
- Alberta International House (AIH) – The AIH played host to industry experts from major oil and gas producing regions who shared exciting business opportunities in their individual markets.
- Freestyle Motocross – One of the most riveting extreme sports, spectators were awed by daredevil motocross riders performing death defying stunts including back-flips, fender grabs, suicide cans and the ultimate “kiss of death”.
- GPS Rodeo – Hosted by World Bull Riding Champion Cody Snyder, attendees were invited to see live bareback riding, mutton-busting, wild ponies, saddle-bronc riding and bull riding at various times over the course of the Show.

International Energy Ministers Forum Announced

Calgary, Alberta, Canada – New to GPS, the International Energy Ministers Forum will offer a look into the minds of the world’s energy leaders as they discuss today’s challenges, and tomorrow’s opportunities. Confirmed to join the Forum are His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, Minister of Oil, the State of Kuwait, His Excellency Sameh Fahmy, Minister of Petroleum and Mining, Egypt; His Excellency Abdullah Bin Hamid Al-Attiyah, Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, Qatar. Free Technology Presentations at GPS

Calgary, Alberta, Canada – Global Petroleum Show now offers attendees FREE technology presentations highlighting drilling and production techniques, environmental strategies and technologies, enhanced recovery methods, and well optimization.
Exhibiting companies with new products and innovations will present 30-minute presentations in both the Innovations Theatre and Unconventional Gas Theatre. Over the course of three days, attendees have the opportunity to view the presentations and get up close and personal with the technology itself. The Theatres are free to attend with your GPS name badge.

Global Petroleum Conference Uncovers the Game Changers
