MEET THE COMMITTEE - CESAR VERA
The GPS Technical Call for Abstracts deadline is approaching! We encourage that all technical professionals submit their abstract to present in front of a global audience, take part in discussions and network with the best in the industry.
This week we caught up with Cesar Vera, Chief Commercial Officer of Naviera Integral about why he started working in energy, what trends he’s noticing globally and projects that he’s worked on.
GPS: What is your specialty? What abstracts will you be reviewing?
CV: I will be reviewing Drilling and Completion, and People and Talent.
GPS: What are some projects you’ve worked on?
CV: I have been truly blessed to have been participating and leading in several and diverse projects around the world, both offshore and onshore. These projects includes well drilling and all related services, new drilling rigs design, environmental management, production enhancement and recovery, logistics and supply vessel management, and in recent years digital transformations. I’m always surrounded by capable and committed teams and individuals that have enriched me with learnings that I am always ready to share so they can be of contribution.
GPS: What trends are you noticing in global energy?
CV: There seems to be a rapid understanding that a combination of energy sources and their interaction is the way forward rather than replacing for one and other. Digitalization as a mean to efficiency and optimization thru analytics, AI and machine learning. Also, there is finally a realization, that human talent and applied experience is the key element that technology alone cannot provide.
GPS: What attracted you to working in energy?
CV: We are all moved by energy in all its forms. Responsible actions to produce, use and reuse energy start with each of us playing our part. Therefore, my active participation and passion for this complex and powerful industry.
GPS: What do you like to do in your free time?
CV: I enjoy spending time with my family and making every day count. I go there and everywhere in the outdoors, as it allows me to be awed for the great creation our planet is. I also like travelling and getting enriched by the culture.
