MEET THE COMMITTEE - DR. ELDEN JAAFAR
The GPS Technical Call for Abstracts is open! We encourage that all technical professionals submit their abstract to present in front of a global audience, take part in discussions and network with the best in the industry.
This week we caught up with Dr. Elden, an International Petroleum Expert about why he started working in energy, what trends he’s noticing globally and projects that he’s worked on.
GPS: What is your specialty? What abstracts will you be reviewing?
EJ: I have more than 25 years of experience with major oil & gas companies in fast paced technologically sophisticated environments within Canadian and International E&P upstream. The abstracts I will be focusing on are: Canadian and international oil and gas projects evaluation, field development, reservoir engineering and management, EOR, Reserves estimation, 3D simulation modelling, post production, LNG and new technologies.
GPS: What are some projects that you’ve worked on?
EJ: Some selected projects are the Mackenzie gas project, Shell Canada Foothills field development & reservoir management, East coast oil & gas fields development, Alberta Deep Basin unconventional resources development, Horizontal Infill wells modelling in Cardium & Montney resources, Identification of EOR potential in Alberta, Cardium unconventional resources field development in Alberta, Buzzard giant oil field development with water injection, offshore UK, Qatar LNG projects development with Mobil Oil, Reservoir engineering and simulation modelling of Golden Eagle field in UK.
GPS: What trends are you noticing in the global energy landscape?
EJ: I am expecting that new technology to maximize oil and gas recovery and reducing cost will have more focusing, also focus on unconventional resources development, LNG and clean energy trends.
GPS: What attracted you to working in energy?
EJ: They are exciting industry sectors of challenge, new technology, innovation and dynamic trends with every day of new ideas to make change and adding values, improving recovery process, HSE and respecting environment needs.
GPS: What do you like to do in your free time?
