MEET THE COMMITTEE - CARA WOLF

As we’re accepting abstracts for the GPS Technical Conference, we caught up with Committee Member Cara Wolf, Founder and CEO of Ammolite Analytix to discuss what trends she’s noticing in the global landscape, what abstracts she’ll be reviewing and what attracted her to energy! 

GPS: What is your specialty? What abstracts will you be reviewing?

CW: I will be reviewing cybersecurity, digital transformations, robotic process automation, research and development, and technology commercialization.

GPS: What are some projects you’ve worked on?

CW: Providing digital and physical security to the worlds leading oil and gas installations, piloting new technologies, developing business cases and technology plans for Fortune 500 companies, developing and implementing new technology into large organizations,

GPS: What trends are you noticing in global energy?

CW: I’m noticing new forms of attacks that we are under prepared for such as: AI’s tricking AI’s to see something that isn’t there (deep fakes), drone strikes on field installations, sensors being tricked into not detecting methane, data theft, cryptojacking, malicious social engineering, an increase in unfriendly state funded threat attacks, the importance of multiculturalism and diversity for profit optimization, new laws and legislation with regards to data protection and privacy.

GPS: What attracted you to working in energy?

CW: I’ve always been interested in working in an exciting dynamic industry that is always on the forefront of new technology development. This sector also touches on: Ethical and responsible development, respect for diversity of thought, indigenous peoples and all other cultures and genders, international reach.

GPS: What do you like to do in your free time?

CW: I’m training for my second degree black belt in Hap-Ki-Do and will test in November. I also love to travel, read and cook.
